Megan Alvarez has been in education for eleven years and has taught in various schools and programs in middle school, high school, and college. She began her career teaching high school English Literature and Creative Writing here in Adams 12. After teaching abroad in Colombia, middle school quickly became her favorite, and this year she is thrilled to join the family at Rocky Top as an ELD (English Language Development) teacher and Social and Emotional Learning Specialist. She is a Buff all the way, with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Women and Gender Studies and a Master’s in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She loves to hang with her husband (also a teacher) and her two rambunctious sons, travel anywhere and everywhere, snowboard, and read.
