Counseling

Our counselors collaborate with the school psychologist, social worker, special education department, content area teachers, elective teachers and administrators to meet the academic, personal/social and career needs of every student. This team also coordinates the design and implementation of interventions for students as part of our school’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process. The counselors also push into classrooms to deliver universal lessons related to ICAP (individualized career and academic plan) and social-emotional competencies. We encourage parents and students to use the resources provided on the Counseling Department webpage to build their social emotional skills. There, students may also access the counseling office request form to let their assigned counselor know they’d like to connect. Additionally, counselors strive to meet with every single Rocky Top Grizzly at least once per year.
