Academic Resources for Parents
There are many different ways you can help your student to monitor their work completion and grades. Study sessions with teachers and Wednesday homework help with high school volunteers are two of the ways we help students to get some additional academic help. Below, please find some helpful links and information.
Infinite Campus: Though there are many uses of Infinite Campus and the uses differ from district to district, THIS VIDEO may be helpful to you as you navigate the website.
Google Classroom: Many teachers utilize Google Classroom as a means for assigning work. Students can submit work directly through Google Classroom. Unlike on Infinite Campus, parents are not able to have their own login, but your Grizzly can log into their Google Classroom with you and show you how to navigate which assignments have been assigned and submitted.
Teacher Blogs: Teachers update and maintain blogs regularly at Rocky Top. We recommend that you review blogs regularly with your Grizzly to see what they are learning in the classroom and what work they are responsible for. Teacher blogs can be found on the “Cores” tab of the RTMS website.
Help Sessions: Morning and afternoon study/help sessions are a great way for students to get additional academic support, make up or retake assessments and/or catch up on work from an absence. The help session schedule can be found HERE on the RTMS website. Many teachers will accommodate other times in the week for a meeting if the student pre-arranges a time with them. Encourage your Grizzly to reach out to their teacher for more information.
