Counseling Registration

Important Dates

February 2018 (current students)

February 20, 10:30-11:30  - High Schools visit current 8th graders. Students will be given information about registration as well as due dates and open house information.

March 20, 2018 (current students)

During Science Classes - Counselors and registrar deliver registration info. to current 6th graders. Students will register on this date in their classes after discussing their choices and options with parents.

March 22, 2018 (current students)

During Social Studies Classes - Counselors and registrar deliver registration info. to current 7th graders. Students will register on this date in their classes after discussing their choices and options with parents.

March 2018 (INCOMING students)

  • Mar. 19 @ 12:15 PM - Silver Creek
  • Mar. 20 @ 10:00 AM - Prairie Hills
  • Mar. 22 @ 8:00 AM - Eagleview
  • Mar. 23 @ 11:50 AM - Meridian

Counselors and registrar visit elementary schools to talk about the structure of middle school, discuss and describe classes and allow for a Q&A session. (This is when we answer the age old question "what if I'm late to class."). We will deliver information so that students and parents can make their music selection online. Parents may want to wait until after April 18, when they will hear from our music teachers firsthand.

April 18, 2018 (INCOMING students)

  • 6:00 - 7:30 @ Rocky Top Middle School (gym entrance)

Gearing Up to be a Grizzly - (Parent/student night) for incoming 6th graders.

Our principal kicks off this evening where parents have the opportunity to hear from elective and core teachers as we go through a mock schedule. Parents will get in depth information about RTMS on this night (ie: chromebooks, curriculum, scheduling, instrument rentals, timelines and much more!)

For parents who haven't registered for a music class online by April 18, a computer will be available at 7:30 PM in the library.

Come join Rocky Top Middle School Principal, Chelsea Behanna, for coffee & conversation about your child's upcoming transition to 6th grade. Bring your questions, worries and hopes to share as we discuss all the things to look forward to as you wrap up the year. Please note, all essential information about your student's transition will be shared during our Gearing Up to be a Grizzly event on April 18th. Coffee & Conversation is simply intended to be a supplement to that event, providing families with an opportunity to chat with our principal in a smaller setting. Only 30 spots will be available per Coffee & Conversation session and we ask that you only sign up once.

Welcome to Grizzly Country - when students get to see where their classes are, open lockers, get to know new students, set-up Chromebooks and more! (PLEASE bring your schedule from home)

8:30 a.m.  - The first day of school for 6th grade - is the final event in our transition. The day begins with a large welcome in the gym followed by the full attention of our staff ensuring each student is comfortable and aware of resources.
