During this unit we'll examie the war that nearly split the United States into two countries. In addition to the war itself and specific battles, topics of learning will include:

• Election of Abraham Lincoln
• Emancipation Proclamation
• Abolishing Slavery

Rent/purchase the movie Glory starring Mathew Broderick, and Denzel Washington.  Write a one-page summary of the movie that also explains the significance of the movie as it relates to the Civil War.(20 points)
