I was born in Dunoon, Scotland in 1980. My dad was stationed there while serving in the Navy. I moved to Denver six months after I was born and have lived here ever since. I graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in 1998 and then went on to get my Associate Degree from Arapahoe Community College, my BA in political science from Metro State, and my teaching license from CU-Denver. I also completed my MA at CU-Denver in Curriculum and Instruction.  I'm currently attending the University of Phoenix for another MA in Administration and Supervision.  I hope to have that completed by July 2011.

I was married to my wife Hannah on July 14, 2007 at our church, Shepherd of Love in Broomfield. Our first daughter, Kaitlyn, was born on July 1, 2009.  We enjoy going to movies, baseball games, and just relaxing at home with our cat Griffey, our dog Zepher.
