Communication of Assignments

Students are expected to copy homework and class work assignments into their agenda daily.

 Communication between parents/guardians and teachers is a vital component in your student’s education.  Please check your student’s agenda each day to find a list of topics and assignments from each class.  You may occasionally receive comments from us in the agenda, and you are welcome to use this as a communication tool as well.

The best way to reach us is by email.  Teachers are not available to take telephone calls during the day, but feel free to leave voice mail messages so that they may return your call at their earliest convenience.

 

LATE WORK POLICY

Excused Absences

·       In accordance with Superintendent Policy 2.3.2, students shall be given a period of at least the same number of days they were absent, plus one additional day to make-up the assignments. The make-up period begins on the next school day following the absence.

Student 3 Step Behavior Plan / Detention Plan

1.  Written warning to student (Student Awareness))

2.  2rd Written warning to student, phone call home and after/before school detention.

3.  All other problems with student referred to the office. (Administrative Awareness/ Action)

 

TARDY POLICY 

            Students are expected to be in their seats,

            writing the class work/homework in their  agendas when the bell rings without prompting.

·         Consequences for tardies include mandatory use of one of their 3 Restroom/Tardy passes, conference with student, parent contact, detention, or referral to an administrator.

·         The Student 3 Step Behavior Plan will apply if a student uses up all Restroom/Tardy passes.

 

STUDY SESSIONS 

 

Mr. Thornham has established, regular study sessions for students to have access to additional explanation of topics covered in class.    Please contact Mr. Thornham the day before you would like to attend a study session to make sure there has been no meeting or other activity scheduled.

 

MONDAY – After school until 4:00PM

TUESDAY – 8:00AM until the start of school

THURSDAY – After school until 4:00PM

 FRIDAY - After school until 4:00PM
