7th Grade Policies and Procedures Connected Math Program (CMP): - CMP is the math program District 12 currently uses for their math program. To explore the ideas around CMP, for assistance with homework, or anything else you would like to know, please visit their website: http://www.phschool.com/cmp2/ Rubrics The following rubrics will indicate to you how check-ups and tests are graded. There are three different type questions that can be asked on an assessment. 4 point, 3 point or 2 point questions.
Mathematics Late Work Policy: Students will have MATH homework Monday - Thursday and occasionally on a Friday night. Students can have up to 70 minutes of homework in their CORE Academic classes. 30 minutes of that homework will be math homework. If no other homework is assigned, students should spend a MAXIMUM of 1 hour on their MATH homework. However, if they do not complete the entire assignment in that time period, a parent letter stating this will allow students to turn their work in paritally done. However, this is a good indicator that your child should come to a help session to obtain the information she didn't understand. If students turn their homework in LATE, I will deduct 10% off of their homework grade for every day it is late. 1 day late = maximum 90% 2 days late = maximum 80% 3 days late = maximum 70% 4 days late = maximum 60% 5 days late = Failing Grade In addition to a deduction of 10%, students will be required to copy a pre-drafted letter regarding the missing assigment and will need to get this letter signed by a parent/guardian and returned the next day. Failure to return the signed letter will result in a phone call home. Failure to return the letter after the phone call will result in a referral to the office.
