IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A GRIZZLY!!!

* CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 7TH & 8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAMS. BOTH TEAMS WENT UNDEFEATED THROUGH THE REGULAR SEASON AND UNDEAFEATED THROUGH THE TOURNAMENT!!! 7TH & 8TH BOTH BROUGHT HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP!! WE HAVE AN AMAZING GROUP OF STUDENT ATHLETES AND ROCKY TOP IS EXTREMELY PROUD OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS!!! WAY TO GO LADY GRIZZLIES!!!

*  GIVE YOUR GRIZZLY WRESTLERS A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR BEING THE  UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS OF THE REGULAR SEASON THIS YEAR!  OUR GUYS VENTURED INTO THE LAIR OF THE COMETS WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITH ONE THING ON THEIR MINDS: 7 AND 0!!!  THE MATCH STARTED OUT A BIT ROUGH AND AT ONE POINT ALL SEEMED LOST BUT OUR GUYS REALLY PULLED IT OUT IN THE CLUTCH TO WIN 69 TO 53.  SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS LAST NIGHT INCLUDED SKILLFUL PINS BY ZACH "THE ANNIHILATOR" BLAIR, "HURTIN" HUNTER LUCAS, ISAAC "THE THRASHER" GONZALES AND XAVIER "THE BULL" BOCCADORA.  COME AND JOIN US SATURDAY AT THORNTON HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE DISTRICT WRESTLING TOURNAMENT STARTING AT 8AM.  CHEER ON OUR GRIZZLY WRESTLERS AND HELP THEM TO TAKE FIRST PLACE!!!  MAKE SURE TO GIVE YOUR WRESTLERS A PAT ON THE BACK IN THE HALLWAYS AND HELP THEM GET PUMPED UP FOR THE TOURNAMENT SATURDAY!!

*  CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU to all who participated in our annual food drive!!  Because of you we were able to fill food baskets for 150 families!! 

The winners are:

6th grade - Roar Core with 232 points

7th grade - Power Core with 518 points (This is a new Rocky Top Record for any core!!!)

8th grade - Bruins Core with 371 points

As promised, these winning cores have won a doughnut party.  NJHS officers will plan your party with your teachers.

 

*  ROCKY TOP STUDENTS CAST IN THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN!!  The award winning Northglenn Youth Theatre is proud to announce that four Rocky Top Middle School Students have been cast in the UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN.  Mitchell Dailey, Alex Milinazzo, Josh Rowzee and Hannah Royer will each perform as members of the ensemble cast.  The show runs November 13-22, 2009 at the D.L. Parsons Theatre in the Northglenn Recreation Center and includes two performances for school groups on Wednesday, November 18th and Thursday, November 19th at 10:00 am!

*  Grizzlies!!! When you are caught doing a random act of kindness!  You can receive a Grizzly Gratitude Ticket!!  Collect the tickets and you will be able to turn them into the Library for prizes.  Prizes will be available starting October 19th.  This will give Grizzlies a chance to collect the Grizzly Gratitude Tickets.  Students - make sure to put your name and grade on the back of the ticket before turning them in for prizes!!! 

 

*  Tis the season for Holiday Shopping!!!! Get your friends and family awesome gifts at the Orchard Shopping Center, then log your receipts at the Guest Services Kiosk for Rocky Top or turn them into the box in the office.  Your friends and family will get cool gifts and your school will get money!!!  It's a win - win situation!!!

*  All girls interested in 7th & 8th grade girls volleyball, please check in with Ms. Hill in the front office.  7th grade girls also need to check in with Ms. Wohlford and 8th grade girls need to check in with Mrs. Perez.  Volleyball practice starts on Tuesday November 17th.  7th grade will practice in the morning at 6:40 am and 8th grade will practice after school until 5:15!  See ya all there!! 

*  With Christmas right around the corner, NJHS has decided to sell chocolate suckers for the occassion.  They are $1.00 each and are a great stocking stuffers or gifts for your friends or maybe just a special treat for you!!!  Come buy one today!!!

*  There will be NO Library Lunch Passes for 6th & 7th graders handed out from now until Monday, November 7th due to the 8th grade COLONIAL VILLAGE!!! 

*  ATTENTION ALL 6TH GRADERS INTERESTED IN INTRAMURALS!!!  The next intramural sport of the school year is Volleyball, it will begin on Tuesday, Decemebr 1st.  The first 24 6th graders to return this form to Mr. Wohlford will be allowed to participate.  Please have your parent sign the form before turning it in.  We will meet on the 7th and 8th grade game days.  The first meet will take place on the 1st of December (Tuesday) from 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm.  The volletball session will be about 3 weeks long.  We will meet on the following dates:  12/1, 12/3, 12/7, 12/9, 12/14, 12/16!!  MARK YOUR CALENDER!
